Sports scholarship

At the state level to the national level, the Indian Sports Federation and the Sports Authority of India organize school and women’s sports competitions every year through the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services. Maharashtra State has been in second place in the medal tally in school sports competitions for the past five years. Considering the sports achievements of players in the state, an important decision has been made by the Department of School Education and Sports, Government Resolution No. Atapra-1008/(Pr. No. 428/08)/KriyuSe-2, dated March 22, 2010, to increase the sports scholarships as well as to provide honorarium to players who achieve proficiency and participate in international school competitions. In the financial year, a total of approximately 2300 players are approved for sports scholarships.
