    Maharashtra State Scout and Guide Scheme (Balveer and Veerbala)

    Since the academic year 1972-73, the subjects Balveer and Veerbala have been introduced as optional subjects for 8th to 10th grades in secondary schools. The Balveer and Veerbala scheme is implemented in the state through the Maharashtra State Scout and Guide, Mumbai organization. Currently, 297 staff members are employed under this scheme, with 42 offices across 36 districts in the state. The scheme is effectively implemented through district offices under the supervision of the concerned organization. The goal is to develop character among boys and girls, enhance their physical, mental, moral, and spiritual strengths, and create good citizens who abide by the law, ensuring they can be of service to society. The initiative focuses on nurturing characterful, service-oriented, self-reliant, humble, courteous, and patriotically inclined good citizens.
