Khelo India – Creation/renovation and use of sports facilities. – Sports Schemes

In order to create, Central Government Sports facilities, the earlier existing scheme, ‘Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme’ has already been transformed in to a ‘Play India/ creation of sports facilities / renovation and use’. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to 100 percent(within Government grant limit) for construction of sports facilities through the Central Government. Eligible Institutions for grant in aid :-

1. Sports authority / State Sports Council.
2. Local self Government Bodies.
3. Schools/Colleges, Universities through the Central/ State Government.
4. Sports Control Boards.
5. Sports Authority of India.
6. Apart from this, other organizations fixed by the Departmental Approval Project Committee. The proposals received by the District Sports officer are submitted to the Government with a recommendation of Principal Secretary, School Education and Sports Department of Government of Maharashtra have been submitted to the Central Sports Ministries.
