Establishment of the District Sports Training Center

By establishing district sports training centres in every district of the state and making modern training facilities available at these centres, regular sports training will be provided to athletes in the district through these facilities. The centres for which the government has granted approval for the establishment of district sports training centres in any district of the state will be considered eligible for grants. The recognized district sports training centre must submit an application to the relevant district sports officer and the member secretary of the district sports council along with the necessary documents, and they should forward the application to the Commissioner of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra State, Pune, for approval.

The District Sports Training Centre will receive an annual grant of Rs. 14,48,500/- per district for sports materials and training equipment, tracksuits and uniforms for athletes, honorarium for ground attendants, sports-related literature, C.D.s, books, periodic publications, magazines, office/supplies expenses, travel expenses for trainers, maintenance and repair of sports grounds, discussions/seminars/workshops (at least twice a year), counselling, preparation of brochures for the promotion of the training centre, plex boards, posters, local newspapers/cable channels, and training camps.
