The State Youth Policy
The Youth Policy of the country was announced in 2003. Considering the youth population in the age group of 13 to 35 in the state, it will be possible to implement various schemes for youth welfare if an independent youth policy of the state is formulated in accordance with the country’s youth policy. Against this backdrop, in order to decide on a new youth policy after a comprehensive review of the state’s youth welfare sector, the government decided to appoint a committee under the chairmanship of the Honourable Minister (Sports and Youth Welfare) and the vice-chairmanship of the Honourable Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare on February 20, 2010. This committee included 29 members. The objective of this committee was to make comprehensive recommendations that would assist in determining the new youth policy of the state, considering the country’s youth policy of 2003 and the various changes that have taken place in the youth welfare sector thereafter. On June 14, 2012, the youth policy of Maharashtra 2012 was announced, and a government decision was issued. Accordingly, government decisions for 6 schemes have been received, and those schemes are as follows.
New Revised Maharashtra Youth Policy: The Maharashtra Youth Policy was approved in 2012, and its duration was set for 10 years.
