National Cadets Corps
In the year 1948-49, the National Cadet Corps was established nationwide for secondary, higher secondary, and college students in educational institutions. According to the changed education system of 10 + 2 + 3, which started in Maharashtra from the academic year 1972-73, a program under optional subjects has been included in the curriculum of the National Student Army at the secondary, junior, and senior college levels. The National Cadet Corps acts as a responsible link connecting the central government and state governments as a component of the education system. The officer with the rank of Brigadier in the Army is the Deputy Director of the National Cadet Corps, Mumbai, who manages the administrative and training camps under the central government officials. Regional group leaders and coordinating officers are also officers from the Army. The salaries and allowances of the officers in the Army Corps, the cost of weapons, ammunition, and other materials are borne by the central government. There are a total of 66 National Cadet Corps offices in the state, and the salaries and allowances of the civil employees in those offices, training and camps for cadets, the Republic Day rally event, refreshments, laundry and polishing allowances, honorarium allowances, and regular office expenses are borne by the state government. Within the National Cadet Corps, there are 7 group leaders, group headquarters, and 59 commanding officer offices operating, with a total of 1016 posts approved in class 3 and class 4 categories in these offices.
