Khelo India

In the upcoming years, with a view to preparing for major international competitions such as the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games, talented and emerging athletes should be encouraged, and players should experience the organization level of major international competitions like the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. For this purpose, the Sports Department of the Central Government organizes the Khelo India Sports Competition every year. Talented athletes are awarded scholarships by the Central Government. Under this scheme, every year, talented athletes are selected from the Khelo India competitions and provided with modern training, with an expenditure of Rs. 5.00 lakhs per year for the next eight years by the Central Government.

Medal-winning athletes will be honoured with cash prizes of Rs. 5.00 lakhs, Rs. 3.00 lakhs, and Rs. 2.00 lakhs, respectively by State Government.
